Great, you want to learn to drive so you’re looking for driving lessons. Where do you start, how does it work?
Thankfully we know a thing or two about driving lessons and we’re here to help. This page is dedicated to giving you all the information you need to know, if you know the process and just want to book some driving lessons, fill out the contact form on this page or scroll down and click your area below.
How do I start driving lessons?
The first thing you need to do is apply for your provisional driving licence. You can do this from the .gov.uk website. There are 2 requirements, you have to be at-least 15 years and 9 months old and be able to read a car registration plate from 20 meters away. We will check this in the car so if you need to get your eyes tested now is a great time to do it. A provisional license currently costs £34 – only use the .gov.uk service, there are companies out there which charge you more for absolutely no reason at all!
What happens when I have my provisional driving licence
That’s where we come in! When you have your provisional you can get in touch (phone us, request a callback or even send us a message on social media) and we will arrange for a local driving instructor in your area to give you a call and arrange your first driving lesson. You can meet most of our driving instructors online with their own profile pages.
What tests do I need to pass?
There are 2 tests you must pass in order to gain your full driving licence. Your Hazard Perception & Theory test are taken together and you must pass them together. Once you have passed them you book your practical driving test, your driving instructor will tell you when to apply for it.
Should I learn weekly or do a course?
The choice is yours, but from experience we know that people learn better doing it slowly rather than cramming driving lessons in as quickly as possible. You can have a look at our intensive and semi-intensive driving courses if you wish, but if you’re not in a rush, the best & safest way to learn is through weekly lessons.
